In front of the unique maritime scenery around the Landungsbrücken Hamburg’s citizens and visitors can experience a wonderful event by sea, land or even air. Big cruiser ships, frigates and steamboats can be admired during the days of the Hafengeburtstag.

International atmosphere at Hamburg Harbour
Many international ships are visiting the Hafengeburtstag to celebrate our beautiful city together. In former years ships from Spain, Finland and the United States of America came by. German navy ships are also present, like the frigates “Lübeck” and “Mecklenburg Vorpommern”. On the Elbe river many ships from the fire brigade to the harbour police can be seen as well as customs and museumships. Many ships lying in the harbour also allow the public to board.

Cruise ships ahoy!
The Cruise Ships that stroll along the Elbe are very special and beloved among Hamburg’s citizens and visitors. Thousands of people are trying to catch a gaze at the impressive ships.
Music and delicious food
The “Hafenmeile” along the Elbe is about 3,5 km long. Delicious food and entertainment are offered for everybody. There are many stages with live music where rock and pop, folk and much more is performed. The cultural events are also very impressive. Many museums in the “Speicherstadt” open their gates and the stage programs are free of charge as well as the water and air shows.
